Train With a Purpose For the Body Of An Athlete

So how has your training been this week?  What did you achieve?  What did you do differently from last week...anything?  So many of us hit the gym; climb on the cross trainer for 45 minutes or grab a set of dumbells and push through the same workouts week in week out.

Training is many different things to different people, but to most it seems to be a necessary evil, a weekly routine to work towards the body beautiful and a basic level of fitness.

What would happen if you actually decided to train with a purpose?  To make training a greater part of your life and direct your energy towards mastering a skill.  What if you decided to train like an athlete!

True athletes have “multi-purpose” fitness, they can run, jump, row, skip, lift, throw and climb.  If you spent more time learning these skills it leaves little time to count calories (and minutes on the cross trainer!) and will whip your body into shape before you know it.

So tomorrow instead of your usual spin session, body pump class or weight training workout why not try kettlebells, bodyweight conditioning, Indian club swinging, gymnastic ring training,

Master a skill, gain a sense of achievement in every workout and the body of an athlete will follow.
