I have never taken recreational drugs so I am unable to comment. Although I know someone who may have some information on this. I will be in touch.

Going for a pee in the morning...LOL.
Good work buddy- you have IRONMAC approval...

Matt, love the article and really like the simplicity of what you wrote- quite often in this industry people try and be too clever.

Going for a pee in the morning…LOL.

Good work buddy- you have IRONMAC approval…

Comment on Every man should wake up stiff in the mornings! by Andy Smith

Great article, just thought I'd clarify a few things, if I may, from the point of view of a junior doctor:
During sleep, as most people know, you cycle through various "stages" of sleep. The main three you need to know are:
Stage one: This is the very first (no way?!) stage you enter when you first fall asleep, your brain is still functioning with lots of activity with waves called "theta waves".
You then go through stages 1-4 (unless you're disturbed)
Stage four: This is the deepest sleep and the most restful and beneficial, this is the kind of sleep you want.
Once you've reached stage 4, you cycle between that and "rapid eye movement" (REM) sleep via stages 3 and 2.
During REM sleep various nervous and vascular (blood vessels) changes occur which cause your penis to become erect.
As you cycle through Stages 4-3-2-REM-2-3-4 etc. you get an erection pretty much every REM.
It also just so happens that you frequently wake up just after a REM section as it is the lightest sleep.
So, when you wake up it is the most likely time to have an erection!
Testosterone is also involved in potency:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16651047
If you have less testosterone you're less likely to get erections during REM sleep and therefore less likely to have your trusty morning glory smiling up at you!
Thought I'd try and clarify the connection.
I hope I've made sense and explained it, whether you guys asked for it or not!
Great article, I agree with all of it, the sleep and lifting big part especially.
Cheers,
Alex

Great article, just thought I’d clarify a few things, if I may, from the point of view of a junior doctor:

During sleep, as most people know, you cycle through various “stages” of sleep.
